The inspiration for the great artist Michelangelo's painting “The last Judgement” apparently came from a view between rocks at the top of a mountain in Carrara named Campocecina. With its high quality marble, Carrara is also like a Mecca for sculptors using stone. There is a stone sculpture park of sculptor Oki Tatsumi on the premises of Galleria Ars Apua. He came to this Mecca in 1974, and worked in both his home Japan and his second home Italy.
